This spectacular 15-acre coffee farm is located in Los Angeles Valley, NE of San Ramon, Alajuela. It is situated at an altitude of 4000 feet in an area with rich volcanic soil, 2 streams of fresh water, large shade trees, and forest throughout. This magnificent land has all the right conditions to grow high quality coffee (soil chemistry, water, sun, shade, altitude). The rich volcanic soil creates a more unique and stronger flavor in the beans. When the owners bought this land it had overgrown vegetation, wild animals everywhere no bridges over the rivers, no electricity and the dirt road made it impossible to get up the mountain when it rained. Now the farm has been extensively planted with coffee, has interior roads throughout the farm to be able to get to all the areas where there is coffee planted, there are bridges over the rivers and there are guava and poró trees for shade. What makes this location truly special for growing premium coffee is the unique micro-climate balance of shade, sun, and perpetual mist. This micro-climate is especially well suited for the variety planted because it concentrates more on natural flavor in the coffee bean itself. There is a flat area at the top of the farm with an amazing view, very close where the electricity poles are located where a house could be built. In Costa Rica, coffee farming is a way of life.
